DescriptionThis huipil is very representative of the style of Santo Tomás Chichicastenango. It is all cotton, and decoration is limited to the area of the shoulder and arms. The double eagle design is especially significant in Chichicastenango, where local myths describe the two headed bird as a powerful sun god who sees both the bad and the good in the world.
