DescriptionAlthough stained from use and age, this early and important two panel huipil from Nahualá has an inset panel of purple and black that is unusual for this area. Decoration on the back is more typical. Lothrop was one of the first textile collectors to appreciate the astounding weaving of the village of Nahualá, and the range of diverse weaving styles from this village is well documented in this exhibition.
