DescriptionThis piece can be identified as a shawl based on the length and tassled ends. It is made of cotton and rayon, or possibly silk, stripes of purple, white, black, yellow-green, light blue, red, and blue. Some of the stripes contain chevron motifs that appear in a zigzag like pattern. The zigzag can signify little hills or the path of the snake. It has the initial J.M. embroidered in white, which may be a signature left by the weaver.
