    Visual Description

A blown and sand-carved glass bowl in the shape of a Tlingit raven. This red and frosted off-white glass raven, which measures almost 2 feet long, features a hollow, flat-bottomed body with an open back, and a long head with a pointed beak. The surface of the blown glass bowl is adorned with carvings in the traditional Tlingit style: bold formlines and outlined shapes with smooth, rounded corners. Here, the bold formlines and shapes are rendered in red, and the negative spaces are rendered in frosted off-white. Among the bold lines is a stylized leg, folded under the raven’s breast. A ring of small white shells encircles the opening on the raven’s back.
