    DescriptionThis throne is a seat of authority and ancestral lineage of a Mayan Lord. Stylistically, it belongs to a period of early Maya art with some elements of Teothuacan influence, such as the mouthpiece of the large central mask, and to the Paison River region in the vicinity of the ancient Mayan city of Piedras Negras in present day Guatemala.
