DescriptionThe god of wind, known as Ehecatl in Central Mexico, may be depicted on this later vase from Honduras. The power of wind, breath, and speech were closely linked in ancient Mesoamerica and this god literally breathed life into the human race. The dual loop handles on this vase allowed for suspension and the rope across the forehead of the deity suggests a tumpline, the most common form of carrying a heavy burden of cargo in ancient times. On View
